Fishing Charters

Mo Fisch Charters is located at the Marina in Lakeside Mt. on the west
shore of Flathead Lake. We have 3 boats available  for trophy lake trout
as well as lake superior whitefish.

A typical  half day charter starts at 7:00am for 5 hours ends at 12:00 noon. Afternoon charters start at 2:00pm and end at 7:00pm. Twilight charters are customized to your wants and desires, we are flexible on all start times. We troll for the lake trout. We have 4 down riggers on each boat to cover the water column to reach the deep, (sometimes very deep), trophy fish.

We anchor over a ledge or rock pile and jig for the Lake superior whitefish. An average day yields 6 to 12 lake trout and 10 to 20 whitefish. I try to target the largest of the lake trout. Last year our biggest trout was 35 lbs.

Mo Fisch also offers full day charters and twilight charters for people who want to enjoy Flathead Lake under the peaceful splendor of twilight. We will fillet your catch so you can take it home in a convenient zip lock bag, mmmmm very tasty. Lunch can be provided for full day charters, please call for details.

What you will want to bring:

  • A Montana State Fishing License
  • Layered clothing for varied weather conditions.

While we can only accommodate 6 guests in a boat at one time, MoFisch does opperate three charter boats, so groups larger than 6 can be accommodated with advanced notice.
Twilight Cruise $100.00/hour 1 to 6 people (min 2 hrs)
Twilight Fishing $100/hour 1-6 ppl (min 2 hrs)
Lake Cruises $100/hour 1-6 ppl (min 2 hrs)
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations although rare are sometimes inevitable. We will work with you the best we can, rescheduling is the best policy. If you must cancel you are required to give us at least 7 days notice for a full refund. If you notify us less than 7 days before the trip we will refund the deposit if we are able to rebook the trip with other people. If we are unable to rebook with other people you will be charged a $50 per person cancellation fee to the credit card on file at time of reservation.
If you give us Less than 24 hours notice and/or do not show up you will be charged $100 per person to your credit card

Clients must provide their own fishing license.
2 day nonresident fishing license are available locally.

Lake Koocanusa Charter Rates
(2010 Season Rates)
# of Passengers Lake Koocanusa Charters are all full-day trips
(A hot lunch is provided on the boat)
1 to 6 people $800.00 (1 full day)
1 to 6 people $1400 (2 consecutive days)


I encourage you to bring 4 licensed fishermen so we can fish with 8 lines in the water. We are allowed to have two lines per license. And don't forget to pick up your bull trout catch card from MT FWP here in Kalispell, it is free. This allows each license to keep one bull trout per day / 2 per year.

This is all surface fishing with planer boards so we can spread the lines out, eight lines in the water is a good presentation. I sometimes will use the down riggers but no need to go very deep. This is a surface presentation, when those big rainbows hit,  the show is on, they jump and run, fight much like a silver salmon or a steelhead, very fun and exciting. Truly a trophy fish! 

The bull trout or (Dolly Varden) are very plentiful in this lake and some days we catch 10 to 20 of them. They average 5 to 10 pounds. This is a endangered fish so much of the year is a catch and release program. We catch them at the same time when fishing for the rainbows. It gets you up out of the seat and reeling in a trophy fish.

This is my favorite lake and MONTANA'S BEST KEPT SECRET.
