The Mofisch family has been saddened by the recent passing of Captain Bob Orsua, the founder and lead captain at Mofisch Charters, who passed away February 20th following a brief and unexpected battle with cancer. Captain Bob was loved and admired by all who knew him and he will be sorely missed by the entire Mofisch family.
Ask anyone who was lucky enough to spend a day hunting for that trophy lake trout or rainbow trout on Flathead Lake or Lake Koocanusa with Captain Bob, and you are sure to receive the same response time after time… Captain Bob was the quintessential charter fishing captain, who’s love and passion for fishing was unmistakable… matched only by his love and passion for making people smile and feel at home on the lake.
Captain Bob had a certain way about him that always made his guests feel honored, privileged and euphoric with the opportunity to spend the day chartering some of Montana’s finest lakes, soaking in the jaw dropping beauty of the surrounding countryside and catching some of the biggest fish that many of his guests had ever seen.
Captain Bob’s passion for Montana and for fishing was infectious and nobody could end a day on the lake with Captain Bob without a huge elated grin stretching across their face as they posed with their impressive catch of the day.
The passion and adventure that Captain Bob inspired in all of us will continue to live on and thrive as Bob’s friends and fellow guides Tommy Cobianco and Matt McComb take over as lead captains at Mofisch Charters to carry the torch and continue the legacy that Captain Bob started. We welcome you to join us this summer and celebrate the life and passion that Captain Bob inspired in all of us as we continue the proud tradition of serving you with the finest charter fishing service in northwest Montana.
Thank you Captain Bob for inspiring us all. Now lets go fishing!
